RTST, LLC, an IndieLab company (“RTST,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the RTST platform at rtst.app and the RTST mobile apps for iOS and Android. These Terms of Service govern your use of the platform. By accessing or using RTST, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
You retain ownership. You retain ownership of any music, videos, images, audiobooks, podcasts, or other content you upload to RTST.
You warrant that you have the rights. By uploading content, you represent and warrant that you either own the content outright or hold all necessary rights, licenses, consents, and clearances to upload and distribute it on RTST. This includes master recording rights, composition and publishing rights, rights in any samples or interpolations, and releases from any co-writers, producers, and featured performers.
No third-party material. You may not upload karaoke instrumentals, AI-generated voice replicas of other artists, unlicensed samples, or any material owned in whole or in part by someone else, regardless of whether it is freely available online.
License to RTST. By uploading content, you grant RTST a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, cache, store, reproduce, transcode, encrypt, package into streaming segments, publicly perform, publicly display, distribute, and stream your content for purposes of operating, promoting, and improving the platform. This license continues for as long as the content remains on RTST and for a reasonable wind-down period after removal.
Promotional use. RTST may use your artist name, avatar, and cover art to promote the platform — for example, in featured listings, search results, and recommendations.
Moral rights.To the extent permitted by applicable law, you waive and agree not to assert moral rights against RTST's good-faith operation of the platform.
Indemnification. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RTST, LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claim, loss, or damage arising from your content or your breach of these Terms.

Submitting a DMCA notice. To submit a notice of claimed infringement, send a written communication to our designated agent that includes: (1) a physical or electronic signature of the rights-holder or authorized agent; (2) identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed; (3) identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough information for us to locate it; (4) your contact information (name, address, phone number, and email); (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized; and (6) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the rights-holder or authorized to act on their behalf.
Counter-notices. If your content was removed and you believe the removal was in error, you may submit a counter-notice pursuant to 17 U.S.C. §512(g). We will restore the content in 10–14 business days unless the original claimant files a lawsuit.
Repeat infringer policy. In accordance with 17 U.S.C. §512(i), we terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers of copyright or other intellectual property rights.
False claims. Knowingly submitting a false DMCA notice is actionable under 17 U.S.C. §512(f).
Platform fee.RTST retains a platform fee on every fan content purchase and every fan subscription payment. The fee rate depends on the artist's plan: 8% on the Free plan and 4% on the Creator and Lifetime Creator plans. The same rate applies equally to individual content sales and to recurring subscription revenue. The platform fee funds payment processing, hosting, transcoding, fraud protection, and ongoing platform development. Stripe's own payment-processing fees (approximately 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction, subject to Stripe's current terms) are charged in addition to and separate from RTST's platform fee. RTST may change the platform-fee rate with at least 30 days' advance notice; rate changes take effect only on sales and subscription renewals occurring after the effective date.
Daily payouts. Artists are paid daily for revenue earned on the previous day, after a brief processing window. Daily payouts begin once you complete Stripe Connect onboarding.
Schedule may change. RTST reserves the right to change the payout schedule (for example, from daily to weekly) with advance notice via email and in-platform notification. Any change will be communicated before it takes effect and will not affect earnings already accrued.
Currency.Payouts are denominated in USD. International artists receive funds in their local currency via Stripe's foreign-exchange process; conversion fees may apply.
Stripe Connect required.Artists must complete Stripe Connect onboarding, including identity verification (KYC), to receive payouts. Stripe's terms apply to that process. If you do not complete onboarding, your earnings will be held until you do.
Taxes. You are responsible for reporting and paying all taxes on your earnings. RTST issues IRS Form 1099-K to U.S. artists who meet IRS reporting thresholds, delivered by January 31 of the following year. International artists must submit IRS Form W-8BEN. RTST does not provide tax advice.
Chargebacks and reversals. Chargebacks, refunds, or payment reversals may be deducted from future payouts.
Withholding for investigation. We may withhold payouts pending investigation of fraud, bot plays, DMCA claims, or other suspicious activity. Withheld funds are released upon resolution or forfeited if fraud is confirmed.
Fraud and bot plays. Any attempt to artificially inflate play counts — through bots, click farms, incentivized plays, or similar schemes — is grounds for payout forfeiture and account termination.
RTST offers Free, Creator (monthly or yearly subscription), and Lifetime Creator (one-time purchase) artist membership tiers. Pricing is shown on the membership page and in the Stripe checkout flow.
Auto-renewal. Creator monthly and yearly subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel. You can cancel anytime via the billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access until then.
Refunds.Lifetime Creator one-time purchases are non-refundable except as required by law or at RTST's discretion. Creator subscriptions are not pro-rated; we do not issue partial-period refunds.
Price changes.RTST may change Creator subscription prices with at least 30 days' advance notice. Price changes take effect on the next renewal. Lifetime Creator purchases are not subject to price changes once completed.
Founding artist badge and early access. Lifetime Creator members receive a founding artist badge displayed on their public profile and early access to new RTST features before general release. RTST determines in its sole discretion which features are offered as early access and the duration of any early-access period. Early access does not guarantee that a feature will reach general release or remain available in its early-access form.
The RTST platform — including its name, logo, design, code, and branding — is the property of RTST, LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use RTST's intellectual property beyond normal use of the platform.
RTST is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not guarantee that the platform will be available at all times, free of bugs, or secure against every threat.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RTST, LLC and its officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total cumulative liability for any claim related to the platform shall not exceed the greater of (a) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) or (b) the total amount you paid RTST in the twelve months preceding the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, repeat copyright infringement, fraud, chargebacks, or any other conduct that harms RTST or its users. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.

Informal resolution first. Before filing an arbitration, you agree to contact us at info@indielab.io and give us 60 days to try to resolve the dispute informally.
Binding individual arbitration. Except for claims that may be brought in small-claims court and except for requests for injunctive relief related to intellectual property, any dispute, claim, or controversy between you and RTST arising out of or relating to the platform or these Terms shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be conducted in English, by a single arbitrator, either by video conference or in a venue mutually agreed upon.
Class action waiver. You and RTST each waive the right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative action. Disputes must be resolved on an individual basis.
30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing info@indielab.io within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Your email must include your name and a clear statement that you are opting out of arbitration. Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.
Severability. If the class action waiver is held unenforceable in your jurisdiction, the arbitration provision shall be severed and disputes shall proceed in court under the governing law below.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Subject to the arbitration provision above, any dispute shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

If you obtained the RTST app from Google Play, you agree to comply with Google Play's terms of service in addition to these Terms. Google is not a party to these Terms.
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes — such as changes to fees, arbitration, or how we use your data — we will give you at least 30 days' advance notice via email and in-platform notification. Non-material changes take effect when posted. Your continued use of RTST after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
